Partner or Vendor? I'll Be Asking Credit Unions That Question at CUBG in Seattle

I've been a business owner for over 3 decades (yikes!) and, in that time, I've sat across the desk from a lot of business bankers. Some were great, but most weren’t. I've got a story about my journey that I’ve never told anyone, until now.

This September, I'm speaking at the CU Business Group National Conference in Seattle. The session’s called How Credit Unions Can Use AI to Improve Business Services Performance, and it starts with that story.

Here's why I believe it matters. Your business members aren't just coming to you to handle transactions. They're coming for expertise: loans options, treasury management, cash flow advice, the stuff that actually grows their business. And when the answer they get depends entirely on who happened to help them that day, they notice. And it can impact their loyalty.

At first blush, you might assume it's a talent problem. But I don't think it is. Most credit union folks I’ve met over the years are smart, service oriented people who care about their credit union and its members. I think the problem is inherent to an industry that's highly regulated, has an ever evolving offering, and is undergoing transformation.

In Seattle, I'm going to walk through how credit unions can use AI to improve business services performance, and their business member experience. I won't spoil it here. But if you've ever wondered whether your more recent hires could give a member the same answer your best person would, this session's for you.

If you're heading to CUBG's National Conference in Seattle, add it to your schedule.

I'd love to see you in the room.

Not going to the show? No worries.
